According to reports released on the Hebrew news website Calcalist, Microsoft has acquired an Israeli cyber security startup Hexadite for $100 million.
The company Hexadite was founded in 2014 and since then has been developing automated systems that are used to enhance cyberattack responses. The company claims that its automated systems are meant to increase the productivity of the business and lessen operating costs. It provides ready to integrate automated systems which are connected to the existing security detection systems.
Hexadite has so far raised $10.5 in seed capital and the investors were Hewlett Packard Ventures, and venture capital firms TenEleven and YL Ventures.
The current news of Microsoft acquiring Hexadite has also shed light of the growing interests of companies on Israeli cybersecurity firms. Microsoft is said to have three Research and Development centers in Israel and had announced earlier this year that it intends to spend approximately $1 billion in the year 2017 in order to upgrade its capabilities to respond to cyber attacks.
Further, analyzing the acquisition, the Hebrew news website Calcalist states that each one of the 35 employee would now be worth $3 million.
